CURRENT OPENINGS:

1 – PRESCHOOL TEACHER – TWO-YEAR-OLDS PROGRAM

Main job requirements: We request that the individual has or is close to obtaining

  • 2 courses (at least six semester hours or 90 clock hours) pertaining to young children (ages 12 months – 5 years)one in child growth & development, and one in early childhood curriculum, methods, and materials.
  • 1 year of college or 1 year of experience working with preschoolers in a licensed setting, or a combination of college and experience totaling at least one year.

Primary responsibilities:                                                                                     

  • The teacher of the Twos Program will prepare and implement preschool activities and care for up to 6 children in a well-equipped classroom and play yard.
  • If the group is larger (from 7 to12 children), two teachers will co-teach the class and share all responsibilities.

2 – AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM TEACHER

Main job requirements: We request that the individual has or is close to obtaining

  • 2 courses (at least six semester hours or 90 clock hours) pertaining to school-age children (ages 5 – 10) – such as ‘Child Development & Behavior,’ ‘School-Age Group Child Care,’ and ‘Processes & Acquisition of Reading’
  • 1 year of college or 400 hours of experience working with school-age children in a licensed setting, or a combination of college and experience totaling at least one year.

Primary responsibilities:

  • The teacher of the School-age Program will prepare and implement school-age activities and care for up to 15 children in a large, well-equipped classroom and play yard.
  • When the school-age children are not present, additional duties may include being the Center Assistant – helping a teacher with activities, keeping center areas clean and organized, preparing classroom materials, and working as a Part-Time Teacher or Substitute Teacher.

3 – PART-TIME TEACHERS & SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS

Part-time Child Care Teachers and Substitute Teachers work with our young children in small, age-grouped classes — Infants, Toddlers, Twos, Threes, PreK, and School-agers.

Main job requirements: We request that the individual has or is willing to obtain

  • coursework in early childhood education or elementary education

Primary responsibilities:

  • The part-time or substitute teacher will implement educational and fun activities and care for our young children in well-equipped classrooms and play yards. Age-grouped class sizes range from 6 to 15 children.
  • Additional duties may include working as Center Assistant – helping a teacher with activities, keeping center areas clean and organized, and preparing classroom materials.

Work Schedules:

  • MDC is open 7:15-5:30 Monday – Friday
  • Work hours are on a scheduled basis depending on your Full-Time or Part-Time status.
  • Schedules typically offered: part-day or full-day, from 2-hour to10-hour shifts
  • We make an effort to schedule your work days and hours according to your availability. For example, if you are in college, your class schedule will be considered.

Pay:

  • Starting salary is $13.90–18.16 per hour depending on qualified education.
  • Salary is increased according to prior experience in licensed organizations.

Job Types:

  • Full-Time – 40 hours with benefits or
  • Part-Time without benefits.
